Brussels – The Dukovany-Brno Hot Water Pipeline project is gaining important support at the European level. Members of the European Parliament, Ondřej Knotek and Tomáš Kubín, are joining as its ambassadors, strengthening the strategic backing of one of the Czech Republic’s key energy investments.
The Dukovany-Brno Hot Water Pipeline project has received further significant support at the European level. MEPs Ondřej Knotek (ANO) and Tomáš Kubín (ANO) have become its new ambassadors, confirming their patronage during an official meeting held on March 18 in Brussels with representatives of Teplárny Brno, led by CEO Petr Fajmon.
Both MEPs have long supported the project and are now becoming actively involved in its further development. As ambassadors, they will strengthen the expert team responsible for strategic oversight of one of the most significant investments in the energy sovereignty of Brno and the South Moravian Region.
“I greatly appreciate the support the project is receiving at the European level. It confirms its importance not only for Brno and the region, but also in the broader context of energy stability, which is now essential for security and further development,” said Petr Fajmon, CEO of Teplárny Brno.
The project’s importance is growing amid current conditions in energy markets. In times of uncertainty, the crucial role of long-term energy supply stability across the Czech Republic is becoming increasingly evident.
The Dukovany-Brno Hot Water Pipeline aims to become one of the pillars of this stability. According to the plan, it should bring heat from the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant to Brno by 2032. The project will ensure stable heat supplies independent of geopolitical fluctuations while also delivering more predictable prices for households and businesses.
The Hot Water Pipeline thus represents an investment in certainty – for Brno, the South Moravian Region, and the Czech Republic as a whole.
