Brno – An important meeting took place at Brno City Hall to discuss the strategic project of constructing a hot water pipeline from the Dukovany nuclear power plant to Brno.
Invited by the Mayor of Brno, the discussion was joined by Tomáš Lebeda, Director of the Internal Policy Department at the Office of the Czech President.
During the meeting, the project’s main benefits were presented, including stabilizing heat prices, increasing security of supply, and reducing CO₂ emissions. The city’s energy resilience was one of the main topics discussed in the context of today’s sustainability and economic challenges.
The discussion extended beyond the project itself to address the broader energy landscape, along with the economic and environmental impacts of the pipeline. Emphasis was placed on the need for collaboration between cities, the national government, and other strategic partners involved in delivering sustainable energy solutions.
The meeting confirmed that the Dukovany–Brno project presents a major step toward long-term stability in the region’s heating sector and strengthens Brno's position as a city advancing toward a sustainable and efficient energy policy.
