The project to construct a hot water pipeline connecting the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant with Brno has entered a next phase. Preparations for the property settlement have begun, aiming to secure the property rights for the land and buildings affected by the pipeline’s construction. The route of the feeder from the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant to the Bosonohy district of Brno involves more than 4,496 plots of land belonging to 1,362 owners. Additionally, over 3,100 plots are located within the city of Brno itself.
In November 2024, the affected landowners were informed via letter, which gave them an overview of the project and its impacts. Currently, Teplárny Brno, a.s., the project’s investor, has started negotiations with the owners who have raised objections to find mutually acceptable solutions. The analysis of ownership and discussion of problematic cases will serve as key inputs for further project planning.
Meanwhile, the tender process for selecting the designer of the hot water pipeline is underway, with the winner expected to be announced in April 2025. This will move the project closer to implementation, bringing a greener and more efficient heating solution to Brno residents.
